Florida Sex Crimes Against Children

Florida laws criminalize certain sexual activities involving minors. These crimes covers a range from sexting, Lewd and Lascivious offenses in the presence of  or against a person under 16 , actual physical sexual activity including buying, selling or procuring prostitution of a minor. Florida’s Computer Pornography and Child Exploitation Prevention Act  criminalized activities that involve sexualized electronic communications with minors, and the transmission or storage of child pornography. The  Cybercrimes Against Children Act of 2007 added provisions for contacting a child online and then attempting to meet the child for the purpose of abusing them sexually. It also increased penalties related to child porn crimes as well as other internet related sex crimes against children, broadened existing laws, and enhanced registered offender rules and requirements.
